Canada Day landing on a Tuesday this year was not enough to keep local police from a busy week on the road and in the water.
The Renfrew OPP have released stats from their Canada Day week traffic initiative, revealing that a total of 295 traffic- and vessel-related charges were laid with a focus on ensuring safe travel and preventing collisions between June 27th and July 6th.
Officers targeted the big four casual factors for collisions, including aggressive driving, lack of restraint, distracted driving, and impaired driving.
The OPP asks that you do your part as they go on patrol this summer, working to maintain safety on our highways, trails, and waterways.
