Arnprior’s Junior B hockey team has made a very special free agent signing and wants the community’s assistance as she goes in for treatment.
The Packers are asking for help for Arnprior native Livia, a 2-year-old with a love for hockey, who was recently admitted to CHEO back in mid-June after a cancerous tumour was found in her bladder.
Livia has already begun chemotherapy, and her medical team remains optimistic, but the young fan has a long road ahead as she handles painful bladder spasms and side effects from the treatment.
The club says they will be dedicating all funds raised from their chuck-a-puck contests during home games, along with proceeds from donation jars at the Nick Smith Centre’s canteen and admission table, to help Livia beat the disease.
A GoFundMe page dedicated to Livia has already raised over $21,000 as of July 8th.
