
The Town of Renfrew Volunteer of the Year Awards were held on Canada Day July 1st at Ma-te-Way Park on the main stage near the pavilion.
A press release prior to the event read:
“We’re so excited to celebrate the incredible individuals and organizations who make a real difference in our community – through leadership, generosity, and everyday kindness.”
The Citizen of The Year Award went to Frank Belanger who was thrilled to even have been nominated much less become a winner:
The Community Champion of the Year award went to the late Andrea Villamere whose Mom Julie, Dad Butch and brother Brent were all on hand to accept:
Volunteer of the year award was a tie this year going to Marlee Lavoy and Kiera Barter. The Senior Volunteer Award went to Pat McGregor and Non profit of the year Award went to the Renfrew County Voices.
