Director of Infrastructure Andrea Bishop takes council through the Ma-te-Way Park Drive watermain replacement as Councillor John McDonald reads on
The bumpy ride heading out from Renfrew’s myFM Centre is soon to be a thing of the past.
Town Council has approved a bid from Bonnechere Excavating Inc. on a project that Director of Infrastructure Andrea Bishop explains should fix a number of depressions along Ma-te-Way Park drive caused by a watermain that’s experienced a number of breaks over recent years.
The project, which includes the new watermain and new roads and sidewalks, will be on an accelerated schedule once shovels go in next week, as crews will be working against the clock to be done ahead of the local minor hockey season.
Bishop is confident the contractor will be able to keep to a strict schedule.
The project was designed by Jp2g Consultants, who also recommended BEI’s $1,387,938 bid as the lowest of the four contractors who submitted proposals.
