Canada Day preparations in Renfrew are just about done as town staff look to wow guests all Tuesday long inside Ma-te-Way Park.
Programs Supervisor Janyne Fraser is keeping a close eye on the forecast heading into the mid-week holiday in hopes that she’ll be able to welcome residents and guests to a full day of fun and games under the sun.
The party gets underway with a new addition in the Valley Cruisers classic car show in the parking lot from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and continues with exhibits and demonstrations from the NHA/NHL Birthplace Museum and local first responders, yard games, inflatables, Bingo inside the myFM Centre, a free BBQ at 5:00 pm, live entertainment, and more right up until fireworks at dusk.
Fraser has even taken one major request from last year’s fun to heart, making sure hungry partiers won’t have to go off-site for a bite to eat.
With so much for families of all ages to enjoy, Fraser suggests taking a few minutes ahead of time to plot out how you want your experience to go.
So, if Fraser was just attending as a guest, what would a perfect Canada Day experience look like for her?
Fraser says to prepare yourself for a full day outside with sunscreen, hats, and plenty of water, adding that those feeling the heat can make use of the climate-controlled myFM Centre to cool off.
