Ontario Provincial Police in the Upper Ottawa Valley are investigating an overnight incident in Quadeville, southeast of Barry’s Bay, in which a child suffered serious injuries.
“Though this appears to be an isolated incident, investigators are still working to determine the cause of the child’s injuries,” reads an OPP social media post.
Police say the victim remains in hospital, and investigators are working with medical officials as part of the investigation.
“Residents in the Quadeville area should keep children indoors or under close supervision until the source of the victim’s injuries can be determined. If you see anything that could be related, call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. In a life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1,” reads the post.
