The Town of Renfrew has announced the nominees for the 2025 Volunteer of the Year Awards.
“We’re so excited to celebrate the incredible individuals and organizations who make a real difference in our community – through leadership, generosity, and everyday kindness,” reads a press release.
Citizen of the Year nominees are Frank Belanger, Margi Bond and Charlene Riopelle.
Community Champion of the year nominees are Frank Belanger, the late Andrea Villamere, and Merv Warren.
Non-Profit/Charity of the Year award nominees include: the Renfrew & District Historical & Museum Society, Renfrew County Voices and the Knights of Columbus Council 1916.
Up for Senior Volunteer of the Year are Frank Belanger, Ken Dick and Pat McGregor.
Youth Volunteer of the Year nominees are Keira Barter and Marlee Lavoy.
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Canada Day (July 1) at 2:30 p.m. at Ma-te-Way Park (on the main stage near the pavilion).
