The Renfrew OPP presenting the Renfrew Food Bank with $6,100 raised during the 2023 911 Swing for The Cause Golf Tournament
The Renfrew and Arnprior OPP are ready to trade in their cruisers for carts once more for what’s quickly become a summer tradition.
Officers will tee off alongside the community and their friends across Renfrew County’s network of first responders for their 3rd annual 911 Swing for the Cause Charity Golf Tournament this Friday, June 20th, at the Renfrew Golf Club.
Constable Brianna Babin says the day has become a touchstone for the public to meet up with the people sworn to protect and serve outside their usual roles.
Teams will gather for games and a light lunch at 11:00 am this Friday before scrambling for a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start, followed by dinner with entertainment and prizes later that evening.
Babin adds that you do not have to be a golf champion by any means to have fun and help a pair of important community causes.
The Swing for the Cause has been a fantastic fundraiser since first being played back in 2023, pulling in thousands of dollars to help people in the area facing food insecurity.
Golfers looking to join in last minute are welcome to register through the Renfrew Golf Club’s website at $125 per ticket, but space is limited.
The club has also made a few extra tickets available to attend the dinner portion only for $50 while supplies last.
