The City of Pembroke says a cleanup is underway after a spill along the Muskrat River.
Both the city and the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks are investigating after what they describe as a hydrocarbon spill over the weekend, with staff working to determine the source and contain the mess.
Absorbent cloth will stay in place in the river while the cleanup is underway.
Meanwhile, the city is assuring the public that the drinking water system has not been affected by the spill and that they have not been informed of concerns with overall river safety.
