A pair of Pride Month events should flow seamlessly into each other in a colourful procession this Saturday.
The Town of Renfrew hosts its second annual Colour Run, starting from Ma-te-Way Park at 10:30 on June 14th and heading through a 3.5 km trek along the Millennium Trail towards Lisgar Avenue and then northbound up the Algonquin Trail before cutting towards Railway Avenue, where things will wrap up at Town Hall.
Registration is $30 at the starting line, and the town suggests you wear a white t-shirt, plus glasses or goggles for your eyes and a bandana or dust mask for your mouth, as volunteers will be along the route dousing participants in a rainbow of coloured food-grade powder similar to major events happening across the globe.
Once at Town Hall, participants are welcome to stick around for a Pride Picnic along Low Square hosted by Renfrew Pride and Pflag Renfrew County, which will welcome in the community for a free barbeque, face painting, fun and games, and live music.
