House hunters in Renfrew have been given a surprise as a new option has been heading directly to them.
The County of Renfrew is documenting the journey of a newly constructed multi-unit residential home at 153 Francis Street, journaling the process from removing the half-century-old wartime home previously on the lot, to preparing the site for the new 2,100-square-foot building constructed by Petawawa, Ontario based William Sons.
The project adds another two units within the Renfrew County Housing Corporation Real Estate portfolio. Meanwhile, the old home was sold as-is and has been moved to another community.
County Warden Peter Emon says the introduction of the new unit not only helps revitalize a community, but allows the county to actively participate in responding to current housing needs with an affordable, sustainable, and inclusive option.
