Greater Madawaska is a place with plenty of exciting events, breathtaking outdoor experiences, and outstanding local businesses and local officials say it’s time to shine a well-deserved spotlight on the community.
The Greater Madawaska Business Showcase is making its debut in Calabogie on Saturday, June 21. The township’s community development co-ordinator Jenna McEwan says the event is all about celebrating local.
“Our businesses, our people, and everything that makes Greater Madawaska a destination worth discovering,” she said.
Close to 40 businesses and other special attractions will be part of the event, which McEwan says will have something for everybody of all ages.
What that means is a large adventure zone with plenty of games for young and old.
There’s been plenty of buzz in the community about the upcoming event, and rightly so, said McEwan.
The many types of businesses in the community run the gamut, said McEwan, from tourism and adventure (Calabogie Peaks, Calabogie Motorsports Park, Mad River Paddle) to food and drink (Redneck Bistro, Calabogie Brewing Company, Calabogie Pizzeria, etc.), to construction and more.
McEwan can’t wait to help spread the word about the local business community.
One fun feature of the event is a ‘Help Us Clean Up Your Councillor’ campaign that will see bearded township Coun. Taylor Popkie shave his head and face live in support of the Calabogie Food Bank.
The covered rink at the venue should help any possible weather-related challenges, too, she said.
The event is free to attend for vendors and the public. The Greater Madawaska Business Showcase is on Saturday, June 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Calabogie Community Centre.
