Have you seen the ‘Ask for Angela’ campaign posters at your local No Frills, Your Independent Grocer, Valumart or Shoppers Drug Mart?
‘Ask for Angela’ is designed to offer a discreet lifeline for victims of gender-based violence and those feeling threatened in public spaces.
“If you find yourself in an uncomfortable or unsafe situation at one of the participating Loblaw family of stores, you can now discreetly ‘Ask for Angela’ for immediate assistance,” reads a Victim Services of Renfrew County press release. “Spread the word and let your friends and loved ones know about the #AskForAngela campaign.
Officials say help is just one phrase away, it will indicate to staff that the person requires immediate help.
“If you see a sign like this in your participating Loblaws affiliates, you can #AskforAngela for support with your personal safety,” reads the release.
You can also call Victim Services of Renfrew County 343-361-3269 or 1-877-568-5730.
