Thursday nights have become an exciting moment for the charitable arm of Renfrew’s local hospital, no matter the luck of the draw.
Patti Dillabough, Executive Director for the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation, is thrilled to be walking into the hospital this Thursday with their signature Catch the Ace Lottery enjoying a lengthy run and healthy jackpot up for grabs in 2025, especially after a stretch of false starts that saw the Ace of Spades picked off early several times last year.
While the shorter Catch the Aces can make up the totals needed to help the hospital secure vital, life-saving equipment upgrades, Dillabough admits that people playing enjoy the allure of a big prize pool, especially as it climbs towards the $50,000 milestone.
The campaign’s most recent $509,000 investment into the hospital allowed staff to purchase a new bladder scanner and bariatric exam table for their dialysis unit, as well as two new ultrasound machines for the digital imagery department, both of which will help staff in two of their busiest units keep high-quality care close to home.
Tickets for the Week 21 Catch the Ace lottery are available online and at local vendors, with the draw broadcast live on the RVH Foundation’s Facebook page this Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
The community can also support the hospital at this Friday’s RVH Golf Classic at the Renfrew Golf Club with an ongoing garden shed raffle sponsored by Pro Tyre and their $2,500 Golf Ball Drop at the golf course’s 18th green after the tournament.
