The Taylor Run for Mental Health may have come and gone, but its impact is lasting. This year, the event raised more than $18,556 for the Robbie Dean Family Counselling Centre (RDFCC). Steve Wood once again took part in Ottawa Race Weekend this May—his fourth year running in memory of his daughter Taylor, who tragically lost her life to mental illness.
Last year Wood raised around $17,000 and he took the challenge this year to see if he could surpass it, and boy did he!
Over the past four years, Steve has raised over $53,000 for the RDFCC, and he tells myFM what the next year will look like.
The RDFCC provides free mental health support to low-income adults in Renfrew County, offering more than 5,000 counseling sessions in 2023 alone. With funds raised from the Taylor Wood Memorial Run, Wood hopes to help RDFCC continue its vital work in the community, providing essential mental health services to those in need.
