Dear Stone Fence Theatre fan,
Written and originally produced for a limited run in 2016, High Times at the Heart Institute is a musical comedy tribute to health care in Canada inspired by Ish’s own experience as a patient at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
At a time when Canada’s future and independence are very much up for debate, the show is both timely and hilarious.
Directed and choreographed by Shirley Hill and Sarah Wright, the show tells the story of four heart patients who collide at the Institute. They include the main character, party boy Bobby (Rob Tremblay), his space-case ex-partner Wendy (Fran Pinkerton), committed leftie activist Arthur (Ted Scharf), MAGA-type Maggie (Beverly Lewis), overworked and underpaid Nurse Toni (Shirley Hill) and chorus members David Green, Tabitha Green and Ryan Webster.
The band consists of Greg Russell (guitar), Derek Tolhurst (bass), Peter Sattelberger (drums) and Ish Theilheimer (keys).
