Preparations are ramping up as a first-of-its-kind festival barrels towards the finish line at Calabogie Motorsports Park.
The first-ever Guitars and Gasoline Music Festival kicks off this Friday, touting legendary Canadian headliners Blue Rodeo and Josh Ross, plus Theory of a Deadman, The Trews, and more, for what showrunner Cory Klinkenberg is hoping will be an experience like no other thanks to a combination of live music, camping, and a stunning outdoor setting.
He adds that hundreds of volunteers are putting in long hours to ensure the weekend overdelivers as they think about what the festival can become long-term.
That preparation can be seen from the front gate through the racetrack itself, which includes the park’s brand new 15-acre parking lot built especially for the festival, the ample camping and RV spaces along the west end of the track, new signage helping guests get around, and even the finer details that will keep people partying throughout the weekend.
Klinkenberg says the feedback from the community has been fantastic and has informed a few decisions for the event, including the desire to bring in even more music to pick up the slack in between the main acts.
Tickets, parking stickers, and camping spaces are available online but limited, including special VIP camping spaces and glamping yurts right near the main stage.
Be sure to check out the Guitars and Gasoline social media pages for the chance to attend in style this weekend with a special Glamping giveaway, a $3,000 prize draw including your own yurt plus two VIP passes and the full concert experience.
