The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society’s Spring iAdopt event held on May 23rd to May 25th was a huge success! This special adoption event offered a chance to give homeless animals the second chance they deserve. It was a perfect event for those who have been thinking about adding a furry friend to the family, to ask questions and find out more about the adoption process.
The Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Branch had a goal of adopting out 12 animals and Heather Jobe, the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Branch, tells myFM that they were so close to reaching that goal.
Adopting from the Ontario SPCA also comes with many benefits. All adopted animals were spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and they went home with starter food from Royal Canin to help with a smooth transition into their new environment. Jobe explains that she was so happy to see animals that have been in their care for a longer time finally meet their forever homes.
If you’re not able to adopt, you can still help animals in need by making a donation at ontariospca.ca/donate. Your support helps provide care, shelter, and love to animals waiting for their forever families. Jobe tells myFM that so many people came in over the weekend to learn more about adopting and how people can help out the centre.
