Two long-time community volunteers are set to be immortalized on the hardcourt used by the Renfrew Tennis Club.
The club has requested that a pair of tennis courts inside Ma-te-Way Park be named after Garry Irving and Robert Pelletier, who have provided nearly nine decades of combined volunteer service to the club.
Irving spent 40 years as a league organizer, instructor, and president, while Pelletier has organized local league play, led free clinics, and donated lesson proceeds to the Renfrew Food Bank for the last 45 years.
A decision has yet to be made regarding the renaming, as town staff await direction from council. Until then, any questions and concerns about the dedication can be sent to their clerk’s office between now and June 18th.
