Around 18 students from across Renfrew County will be participating in Healthy Foods, Healthy Minds Spelling Bee happening at the Festival Hall à L’Équinoxe this Sunday.
The doors open at noon with the spelling bee starting at 1:00 p.m. sharp. Jodi Bucholtz Acting Manager, Community & Student Affairs at Algonquin College Pembroke Campus tells myFM that the community is welcome to attend and to come out and support these amazing spellers!
Sponsored by myFM, Steven and Julie’s No Frills, Algonquin College and The Brick Pembroke, the gathering supports the Renfrew County Community Poverty Action Network (CPAN). YourTV Ottawa Valley will be on site to capture the action from start to finish.
Bucholtz explains that the knowledge and skills gained in school can have a lasting impact, shaping your future and contributing to your success in life.
All of the contestants are registered but its not too late to head to Steven and Julie’s No Frills to purchase gift cards for the winners or you can go to the form on our website and follow the link to donate to CPAN. Bucholtz emphasizes the importance of spelling bees and how vocabulary plays a huge role in your life.
Don’t ‘bee’ late this Sunday! Come out and support the next generation, while they compete in the Healthy Foods, Healthy Minds Spelling Bee!
