The little village of Westmeath is about to come alive in a big way this weekend as Get Wet in Westmeath runs May 31 and June 1.
Organizers say the event, featuring Canine Watersports Canada dog dock diving on Saturday and Sunday, is sure to provide fun for the whole family.
“Don’t miss this jam-packed kickoff to Get Wet in Westmeath weekend — bring your friends, your appetite, and your community spirit!” reads a social media post.
Get Wet in Westmeath kicks off Saturday with a big breakfast running from 7 to 10:30 a.m. at the community centre and dog jumping competitions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Also on Saturday is a vendor market from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., a raffle table, and a barbecue lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Dog dock diving continues Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. with the finals scheduled for 3 p.m. A barbecue lunch will be available Sunday, also.
Riverview Rescues will also be on hand to showcase some of their adoptable animals.
Funds raised will support the Westmeath and District Recreation Association. For more information, visit the Westmeath and District Recreation Association Facebook page.
