Algonquin College is pleased to announce the appointment of Angela Rintoul as the eighth dean of the Pembroke Campus. Rintoul is a respected leader in health care and post-secondary education, bringing more than two decades of experience in health care delivery and over 10 years of academic leadership to her new role.
Rintoul has served the Pembroke Campus in progressive leadership positions, most recently as acting dean, where she demonstrated a deep
commitment to student success, fiscal stewardship and community engagement. Before that, she served as academic chair of the Health and
Community Studies department, leading academic quality, program innovation and financial stability in a post-pandemic environment.
“Angela brings a calm, thoughtful, and inclusive leadership style that has already had a meaningful impact on our campus culture,” said Claude
Brulé, President and CEO of Algonquin College. “Her ability to balance academic excellence with strong community partnerships makes her the
ideal choice to lead the Pembroke Campus forward.”
Rintoul began her career as a registered nurse working in Nunavut, later earning a master’s in Nursing in Advanced Nursing Practice and working
as a nursing practitioner. Her unique blend of frontline health care experience and academic leadership informs her approach to leading a
diverse, learner-driven campus. She is a passionate advocate for lifelong learning, community development and reconciliation.
“I’m deeply honoured to serve as dean of the Pembroke Campus,” said Rintoul. “This is a remarkable community of learners, educators and
partners. I look forward to continuing to support student success and innovation while championing the values that make our campus such a
vital part of Renfrew County.”
