One Renfrew neighbourhood is expected to be the centre of attention this weekend thanks to a helping hand from the greater community.
Hayley Heaslip explains that her plans for a block party on Barr Street this Saturday, May 31st, pay tribute to her experiences with past residents who never failed to bring families in the area together to connect, have some fun, and enjoy a little community spirit.
Whether you live on Barr Street or nearby, Heaslip welcomes you to bring a chair, some reusable dinnerware, and a small donation to help fund an afternoon that will feature a barbeque, live band, games and activities for the family, and the chance to enjoy great company among friends.
A lot of the fun is being provided with thanks to some help from local residents and sponsors, so any leftover donations will go towards one of Renfrew’s major community hubs.
While she’s not sure how many people will drop by for the festivities, Heaslip is optimistic considering how often Renfrew residents tend to show up when the community celebrates.
Barr Street will be closed to traffic between Hall Avenue and Queen Elizabeth Public School this Saturday from 2:30 to 8:30, with parking available at the school.
Anyone interested in donating or participating, or who just has questions, can reach out to Hayley by email.
