Renfrew's Ella Tettemer, who won the myFM Community First Scholarship last year
A simple question is all that separates one Renfrew area student from a major head start towards their advanced learning.
My Broadcasting Corporation, which owns and operates 96.1 myFM, has brought back its Community First Scholarship for 2025, offering $2,500 for one high school senior in our listening area who wants to pursue further studies in college, university, or the trades.
myFM General Manager Bob Dillabough calls it an exciting opportunity that has become more of a benefit for the winners each year.
Interested students can expect to put together an information packet, including two important files that Dillabough says could make or break an application when it gets to the selection committee.
So, what sets a winning application apart from the rest? Dillabough explains that it’s all in the scholarship’s name: “Community First.”
Applications and audio are due by 7:00 p.m. on June 3rd and can be submitted by emailing shanone@mbcmedia.ca. More information, including a detailed list of what’s needed for your submission to qualify for judging and where to send questions, can be found on our website.
