
The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after a driver was found unconscious in a restaurant drive-thru.
“On Saturday, May 17, just after 11:30 p.m., Renfrew OPP responded to the location in Renfrew when it was reported that a male had passed out,” reads an OPP press release. “Officers attended the scene and arrested an individual in a vehicle.”
An 18-year-old from White Lake was charged with: operation while impaired- alcohol/drugs; operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus); young driver- B.A.C. (blood alcohol) above zero; person under 19 years consuming liquor; novice driver- B.A.C. above zero; fail to notify change of address; fail to surrender driver’s licence; and breach of probation order – four counts.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on June 18. The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
