The Beachburg Agricultural Society (BAS) is now accepting applications for its’ 2025 Youth Bursary Awards, supporting local students who demonstrate community involvement, leadership, and a passion for agriculture and rural life.
Each year, the BAS Youth Bursary Awards recognize outstanding young people from the Ottawa Valley who are pursuing post-secondary education or skilled trades training. These awards reflect the Society’s ongoing commitment to investing in the next generation of community builders, innovators, and agricultural leaders.
“The bursary program is one of the most meaningful ways we give back to the youth who contribute so much to our community,” said Brenna Jansen, President of the Beachburg Agricultural Society. “By supporting their education and growth, we’re not just recognizing their efforts, we’re investing in the future of our rural communities. We’re proud to support their dreams and help ease the financial burden as they take their next steps in education or training.”
New this year, one of the bursaries will be awarded in memory of longtime volunteer and past BAS President, Brenda Byce. Brenda was a dedicated champion of the Beachburg Fair and a tireless supporter of youth in agriculture. This special memorial scholarship honours her legacy by recognizing a student who embodies her values of service, leadership, and rural pride.
