Members of the Pembroke Symphony Orchestra (PSO) are gearing up for their final performance of the 2024/25 season and it promises to be chock full of local flavour, says PSO trumpeter John Artymko.
Friday, May 2 at 7 p.m. at Festival Hall L’Equinox will be the last chance to catch the PSO for the season as they feature some of the best talent from The Valley from younger to older and everything in between with one particular young shining star:
Kirsten Waymann returns as a long standing member of the ensemble and will perform the solo in “Schindler’s List” as one of the many musical offerings of the evening. Artymko refers to her as “the glue that holds the company together” and notes her involvement in several other musical ensembles in various locations outside the Valley.
In keeping with a recent resurgence in “Canadian Pride” the theme of the performance is very much aligned the newly reborn nationalistic fervor:
Part of the key to getting folks to come out regularly is by keeping ticket prices reasonable in a time when every penny counts and John is confident that people will get every penny’s worth with this show:
Artymko is always grateful for the opportunity to perform in the Valley as the joy of live music is something that many, especially younger people, have not as yet discovered:
The show starts at 7 p.m. sharp so get there a bit early and be prepared for what is surely going to be a memorable night of music in The Ottawa Valley.
