County of Renfrew Paramedics are being thanked for their support in Haliburton County during the severe ice storm that knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of homes and prompted a state of emergency.
While we were spared the brunt of the severe weather, other areas of southern and eastern Ontario continue to recover from the damaging storm.
“Our thanks to partners from York Region (The Regional Municipality of York) Paramedics and the County of Renfrew Paramedics for their support through this State of Emergency,” reads a County of Haliburton social media post. “These colleagues have been helping support additional EMS services at bases throughout the County and at the Minden Hills warming centre to help our community stay safe and well!”
Among the support lent by local paramedics and vehicles was setting up a Mobile Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre in Minden.
