The County of Renfrew is hosting a Public Information Centre on Feb. 25 about its first-ever Transportation Master Plan (TMP).
Officials say the county has experienced a 3.9 per cent growth in population from approximately 102,394 people in 2016 to 106,365 people in 2021, indicating steady growth in the region. By 2036, the population is forecasted to reach 107,245. To strategically prepare for this growth and enhance the existing transportation network, the county retained Egis Canada to undertake the development of the first ever TMP.
The TMP is a strategic policy document that will serve as a road map for short-range, medium-range, and long-range transportation infrastructure investments, as well as multimodal transportation planning.
The Feb. 25 event is a virtual session over Microsoft Teams, but residents unable to attend the PIC online can attend at the County Administration Building to view the meeting in Council Chambers.
This final PIC will present analyzed future conditions and proposed future infrastructure improvement recommendations along with recommended policy. This PIC will provide insight into what the final Transportation Master Plan update document will contain.
The first session was held in March 2024. The Feb. 25 session runs from 6-8 p.m.
