Renfrew’s Tim Hortons locations are taking part in a special project that’s set to last this weekend only.
Tim’s is partnering with Special Olympics Canada for a sixth year to raise funds for athletes through the sale of Special Olympics Doughnuts, available in Renfrew and across Canada starting Friday until the end of Sunday, February 2nd.
100 percent of proceeds from each $2 treat sold will be used to help athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities access more opportunities to reach their full potential in sport and in life.
Renfrew franchise owner Richard Dean is excited to help the cause alongside local Special Olympians and coaches, who joined staff in store on Friday to make their own doughnuts for sale.
“Shelly and I would like to thank our awesome community for stepping up and buying these doughnuts,” said Dean, adding, “A huge shout out to our staff who will make hundreds and hundreds of these each day for the next 3 days.”
