Adrian Moyes
Arnprior Rivermen owner Adrian Moyes tested the reach of community app, “What’s Up Arnprior” after some very disappointing game attendance figures of late.
The Rivermen play on the Senior Hockey circuit, in the Eastern Ontario Super League, and he says the calibre of play has been largely going unnoticed- but what a difference between Friday and Sunday games this past weekend.
He hopes its not a case of not knowing what you’ve got ’til its gone.
For those who didn’t get out to either weekend game, here’s what you missed.
Moyes says divisional play has boosted rivalries- and whenever Pontiac or Paugan Falls are at the Nick Smith Centre, it’s like a home game for the visitors.
There are two matches left for the Arnprior Rivermen in the EOSL regular season, and Adrian says there’s a special effort to attract a youth audience on February 1st.
Playoffs will likely begin on home ice two weeks later.
The remainder of the season will be the litmus test for whether the Rivermen continue to call the Nick Smith Centre home.
Moise, a former Arnprior Packer, certainly hopes so.
Let’s keep the Rivermen logo sharing centre ice with the Town’s Green Shirt tradition!
