The Town of Arnprior’s Official Plan would seem to say all the right things about Natural Heritage site preservation, but actual practice seems to have left it as just words on paper.
That’s Lacey Smith, President of the Save the Grove Again Committee which is making a presentation to Arnprior Town Council January 27th on its concerns over the impact of development on the 20 acre land parcel the Galilee Centre intends to convey to Cavanagh Homes.
Smith says the Save the Grove Again Committee’s presentation to Arnprior Council is part of the Package for tonight’s meeting, and is available to everyone in the community to review.

Bottom line is:
While in many respects Municipal Council will argue its hands are tied by the Province’s “More Homes Built Faster Act”, there is an important meeting along the way regarding Land Severance Approval of the 20 acres bordering the Gillies Grove Nature Reserve.
To this point in time, all that we’ve heard has been points-of-view, and posturing.
On February 5th, 6PM, at the Nick Smith Centre- at an open public meeting, the Battle is Joined.
