St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Renfrew is telling pet owners to use their property properly or else everyone’s in the doghouse.
In a recent letter to St. Joes families, Principal Pamela Dickerson says that they’ve seen a high volume of community members irresponsibly using their field as a dog park while also not picking up after their pets afterwards.
They claim that they have had to pick up multiple piles of pet waste before hosting events dating back to September, adding that it’s not fair to students or staff who use the field on a regular basis.
If things don’t change, Dickerson says St. Joe’s will have to close the field off to the public indefinitely. She adds that they’re open to suggestions on how they and the community can solve the problem together.
