Transportation services have been cancelled for several zones today (Dec. 17), due to hazardous icy road conditions. Affected areas include Zone 1 (Deep River), Zone 2 (Petawawa), Zone 3 (Pembroke), and Zone 5 (Cobden, Douglas, Eganville). The cancellations are a result of overnight precipitation, which has led to unsafe road conditions.
Forecasts indicate that road surface temperatures are expected to remain below freezing until later this morning, which has prompted the service cancellations.
However, transportation services will continue to operate in Zone 4 (Madawaska), Zone 6 (Renfrew), and Zone 7 (Arnprior).
Despite the disruptions to transportation, all schools in the affected areas will remain open. Authorities are urging residents to stay informed about the weather conditions and take extra care while traveling.
