The RVH Tree of Lights illuminates the hospital's Healing Garden on Friday, December 1st, 2023
Renfrew Victoria Hospital’s charitable arm is feeling fine about its major mail-in donation drive, even without the mail.
RVH Foundation Executive Director Patti Dillabough says there’s still a chance to support their Tree of Lights campaign, which will illuminate the big tree inside the hospital’s healing garden with lights dedicated in celebration, honour, memory, or support of family, friends, or caregivers.
The 34th annual celebration gets underway this Friday, December 6th, at 6:00 p.m. Donors are welcome to visit the RVH grounds to watch the tree lighting, as well as enjoy carolling, warm cider, and treats, plus a photo opportunity with Santa Claus himself.
It’s an experience that Dillabough believes is unlike any other.
Response for the Tree of Lights campaign has been phenomenal despite the ongoing Canada Post strike cutting off their mail-out pledge forms this year, as the community has shown up in numbers at the RVH Foundation office, as well as giving by phone and online.
Last-minute donors can still make an impact right up until the Foundation locks its doors for the weekend.
The Tree of Lights is the second part of a major fundraising week at Renfrew Victoria Hospital, following up on a very successful Giving Tuesday drive that saw the community pull together $25,480 for the life-saving equipment upgrades that was then doubled by My Broadcasting Corporation President Jon Pole.
