A familiar business for many Renfrew area residents finally gets to celebrate its newest location.
Ben Oakes, an advisor for Sun Life Financial, officially cuts the ribbon on his office at 22 Raglan Street South, just beside the Renfrew Legion, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21st.
Oakes says the historic former funeral home gives him the space needed to continue to grow and handle the over 900 clients he caters to.
Oakes will welcome Renfrew Mayor Tom Sidney and other town officials for the official ceremony before hosting the public for an open house for refreshments and questions for most of the afternoon.
As the chair for the Downtown Renfrew BIA, making use of opportunities in the downtown core is right up Oakes’ alley.
Oakes says his team has done a lot of work on the inside of the former funeral home to make discussing insurance with his clients a comfortable experience.
The hope for the open house is to offer the community a chance to have a conversation with Oakes about the services Sun Life provides without any pressure to make a sale.
