United Way East Ontario has launched an exciting new campaign this November—Novemburger—to support local communities and raise funds for critical social issues. For the entire month, 16 restaurants across Renfrew County, Ottawa, Lanark County, and Prescott-Russell will serve unique, specialty burgers, with a portion of the sales going to support the United Way’s work on issues like poverty, homelessness, mental health, and social isolation.
One of the participating restaurants is Law & Orders, a popular chain with locations in Pembroke, Petawawa, Belleville, and Ottawa. Jamie Law, the owner of Law & Orders, emphasizes the importance of giving back to the community, noting how excited he is to have all his locations involved in this meaningful campaign.
Throughout November, customers can try the specially crafted burgers and vote for their favorites as part of the campaign. Each featured burger sold helps fund the United Way’s initiatives to build stronger, more resilient communities. Law tells myFM that campaigns like this one are so important within small communities, he also tells us about the featured burger.
Lorena Costa from United Way East Ontario expressed her enthusiasm for the inaugural Novemburger campaign, highlighting how it brings together local businesses and the community to support a common cause. “It’s wonderful to see businesses giving back while ensuring that people in our communities can thrive,” she said. Jamie also mentions that there is a voting aspect to Novemburger as well, so make sure to try one of the featured burgers and go vote!
So, head out to a participating restaurant, try a unique burger, and vote for your favorite—while helping make a positive impact in your community!
