You probably couldn’t pack Downtown Renfrew as well as town staff did this weekend.
Renfrew’s Craft Beer and Food Truck Festival brought in around 1,500 guests to Low Square with a few hours to go on Saturday evening, blowing past last year’s attendance totals, according to town Programs Specialist Janyne Fraser.
That bustling crowd kept the many local craft breweries and food trucks who made the trip to Town Hall busy.
The festival has quickly become one of Renfrew’s most popular events each year since returning from its lengthy COVID-19 hiatus. That’s a welcome sight for Fraser, even if she will need to think outside the box if the party needs more space to grow down the line due to the confines of Low Square.
The craft breweries on hand, which came from all parts of the Ottawa Valley and as far away as Bancroft, had very little to complain about, as perfect weather brought in so many patrons that they had to make multiple trips home to restock.
Fraser says the only issue that kept popping up was that the breweries needed to find more ice for their coolers as the day progressed, something she’s already working on for next year.
She also says her programs team is continuing to explore sponsorship opportunities at this event and others throughout the year, which help the town put on bigger and better festivities while also ensuring they break even financially.
