Classic car enthusiasts are in for a treat at the Renfrew Fairgrounds this weekend.
The third annual Cruise In for Cancer gets underway this Saturday, September 14th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., according to organizer Ken Riopelle, who has been blown away by the support he’s seen for the event since he came forward in support of cancer research.
Hundreds of classic makes and models, plus trucks, bikes, and other automotive wonders, have been put on display over the past two years, all in support of raising funds for cancer research.
Riopelle says the cause is all about keeping up what had become a local tradition thanks to the people who came before him.
There is still time for classic car enthusiasts to register their own ride for the Cruise In, with admission just $10 per vehicle or $25 for setting up shop as a vendor for the day. Meanwhile, spectators only need to worry about showing up.
Riopelle expects there to be plenty of space for last-minute sign-ups to find a spot, even if this year’s attendance tops the unexpected highs from last year.
Call or text Ken at 613-433-7100 or Cory at 613-433-0275 to get the process started.
