Renfrew Collegiate Institute’s administration team has emailed parents regarding changes and challenges as students head back to the classroom this week. Principal Neil Farmer notes that there are many questions and concerns for parents and students regarding the new cell phone and smoking/vaping policies. Students will be provided with direction on these items on the first day of school. When it comes to the bussing situation, Farmer says that when buses are running, supervision for students would be available starting at 7:45 am. Given that, the school knows many parents will have to make arrangements for drop off in the morning with no buses running, school staff are going to provide earlier supervision for students beginning at 7:30 am if need be. Also, to attempt to reduce the traffic congestion in front of the school for drop off and pick -up each day, the Principal would ask that if at all possible you use Queen Street at the back of the school or consider having your student walk a short distance from an alternate area.
