It might be a good time to read up on what separates real Canadian bank notes from the fakes.
The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP are reminding residents and businesses do their due diligence when paying or accepting cash after a Pembroke business reported receiving a counterfeit $20 Canadian bill back on August 1st.
No other counterfeit bills have been reported locally at this time, but police are still investigating.
The OPP suggests checking in with the Bank of Canada website to learn more about the security features found on each real bank note.
