As musician Andrew Rodger tells us, one day in April of 2023, he was checking some Instagram posts when he saw one from White Pine Books promoting an upcoming book signing event with author Emily Austin.
Her tome, “Everyone in this Room Will Someday be Dead” struck a resonant chord with Andrew.
That led to the oblique collaboration of Rodger’s CD, “The Alchemy of Clouds.”
In October of 2023 Rodger and friends did a concert recreating The Alchemy of Clouds, and Emily reciprocated by visiting the gig, her new tome in tow.
Flash-forward to this Thursday evening; Rodger has maintained his local stage presence- first at last December’s TAP benefit; and, on July 27th as an opening act for Jim Bryson at Mallard’s
Andrew thinks it a perfect combination: guitar, grimoire and get-together- make for musical magic.
