After a pair of false starts, the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation’s Catch the Ace is picking up steam heading into Thursday night’s draw.
The foundation’s Executive Director, Patti Dillabough, is relieved to make it into Week 14 for the first time this year as money rolls in to keep vital care close to home.
It’s taken some time, but RVH Foundation staff have been able to pull in over $44,000 and counting for their Equip RVH campaign, which helps the hospital purchase state-of-the-art lifesaving equipment like a number of items currently needed in their digital imagery department.
Dillabough also admits that her team has also relied on a few lucky charms to keep the fundraising effort going after the past two attempts were unable to make it out of the first few weeks.
Dillabough says it’s very fulfilling to know the community continues to show their enthusiasm for things like Catch the Ace and other charitable feats like the Cobden and District Civitan Club’s recent golf tournament, which raised $5,000 for the hospital back on August 2nd.
The RVH Foundation estimates that the Week 14 jackpot could reach $35,000 ahead of streaming their draw on Facebook Thursday night at 6:00 p.m.
