The Downtown Renfrew BIA will move on from That Summer Night to celebrate the Dog Days of Summer, coming soon to storefronts along Raglan Street South.
We hounded BIA Board Member Mel Blimke to tell us more about the two-day event coming up next month.
Shoppers who enjoyed That Summer Night will be familiar with the spectacle from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on August 9th, with live music at four locations along the main strip, plus shopping, dining, in-store events, and a barbeque.
Then, on Saturday, August 10th, the BIA will host a Pet Palooza outside Town Hall in Low Square featuring pet portraits and story time, plus a charity dog show with the help of the Wizard of Pawz Dog Grooming.
Blimke says it’s just the start of even more amazing perks of shopping local from the BIA.
He adds that being part of a group boosting and supporting small local businesses is something special.
Saturday’s Dog Show will have multiple categories for interested pet owners to enter into for $5 per dog.
Registration can be done in person at Wizard of Pawz, 134 Raglan Street South, or through the Downtown Renfrew BIA’s website.
All donations and profits from both days of barbequing will support Valley Animal Rescue.
