US President Biden has ended his re-election bid to serve a second term.
In a letter to the nation, he said ending his campaign was in the best interest of his party and the country.
He has also endorsed Kamala Harris, the current sitting Vice-President as his replacement.
The move comes after weeks of speculation over the 81 year-old President’s stamina and mental fitness.
Many in Biden’s own party had been calling on him to step down, questioning his ability to defeat former US President Trump in November’s election.
