The Town of Arnprior has acknowledged the passing of a former Mayor, Kevin MacDonald, who expired July 2nd at the Halifax Infirmary.
Kevin served as Mayor of the Town of Arnprior between 1994 and 1997 and as a Councillor between 1991 and 1994.
His contributions to the Arnprior community stretched beyond the Town itself, through volunteerism with the Arnprior Curling Club and the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital.
Additionally, Kevin MacDonald co-founded the Ottawa Valley Music Festival, a summer-long celebration of classical music from across the Valley which ran for over a quarter century.
MacDonald was a native Maritimer, who, after leaving his native Bathurst, enjoyed an employment path and civic service record took him to Cornwall, the City of Ottawa, Arnprior, and Canada’s Far North in Nunavut.
He is survived by spouse Yvette, three sons and their families.
A celebration of life will be held in the future and condolences may be shared through
his obituary.
Kevin MacDonald was 83 years old.
The family requests that donations be made to a charity organization of your choice.
