Renny the rock snake at the myFM Centre in Renfrew has about tripled in size since it was first created and the latest additions come from a special local facility.
Renfrew County Voices created Renny several weeks ago, inviting the community to bring a painted rock to add to its growing body, and residents of the Bonnechere Manor recently answered the call.
Lena Lambert, a recreation programmer for more than 25 years, said they decided to get involved as soon as they heard about Renny.
They’re thrilled to be able to help out and be able to support another local organization, said Lambert.
Residents, joined by a few visitors and staff, had a wonderful afternoon designing and painting, she said.
Lambert gathered up the rocks and dropped by the centre to add them to Renny. She hopes the rock artists will have an opportunity to see Renny for themselves in the near future. In a couple weeks, residents are visiting the Valley Scoop and downtown and hopefully the Sunshine Coach can swing by the centre to check it out.
She was pleased to see the progress that has already been made.
Find Renny the rock snake (and add your creation) outside the front entrance of the new addition at the myFM Centre in Renfrew.
