The volunteers behind Renfrew’s fair promised a big announcement, and it’s safe to say that they delivered.
Entertainment Director Alex Holmes says that the Renfrew Agricultural Society has a jam-packed line-up of bands coming to the 169th annual Renfrew Fair, including a Friday night headliner that has quite the local fanbase.
Not only are the Trews set to make their return to the Renfrew Armouries, but Holmes says excitement is building for Leonard Skynard tribute act Saturday Night Special’s performance on Saturday, as well as a Sunday matinée with Canadian country music legend Carroll Baker.
Also performing throughout the weekend will be acts with plenty of ties to the Ottawa Valley, including the VanDura’s, Rainwater Whisky, Terry Marcotte, and more.
Holmes is not shy about just how deep this year’s selection of talent will run, especially as the fair moves further away from scaled-down shows caused by the pandemic.
Tickets are on sale right now, and Holmes notes that people looking for a fantastic night out will be hard pressed to find better value than to see a band the calibre of the Trews for $25. Saturday Night Special tickets will cost $15, and going to Sunday’s show with Carroll Baker will cost $10.
The 169th Renfrew Fair runs from September 5th-8th. Day passes and show tickets can be pre-purchased online.
