Renfrew’s mayor is quite happy with the town’s new-look Canada Day celebrations.
Tom Sidney tells myFM that the town’s decision to group all of Monday’s festivities into one full afternoon and evening of food, music, and play under gorgeous conditions proved to be a hit with the crowd.
He adds that it was phenomenal to see the community gather to enjoy an amazing event to cap off the long weekend.
There are some refinements to be made, but Renfrew residents can expect to see something similar to Monday’s fun moving forward thanks to the fantastic support from the community and local sponsors, who help keep the annual celebration free for everyone.
Sidney also hopes that the few thousand locals and visitors who dropped by Ma-te-Way Park on Monday also enjoyed the chance to check out Renfrew’s recently beautified downtown area, including the new flowerbeds planted along Raglan Street.
