With its latest activity, Renfrew and Area Connection Centre officials want to make sure kids have an opportunity to get active and stay busy on the PA DAy.
The centre is hosting a Track and Field Day at Ma-Te-Way Park on Friday, June 7, for students in grades 3 to 7. Events include a variety of races and field events in girls and boys divisions, with ribbons awarded to the top six participants.
A goal of the event is to provide more activities for youth in the community and strengthen the connection with the centre and OPP, explains Tina Hunt, OPP Community Engagement and Education Officer.
There’s been a positive response and registration has gone well.
Youth can sign up for as many events as they like and are required to attend with a chaperone. There will be a cash barbecue on site so kids can buy lunch if they want, Hunt noted.
She’s looking forward to the day.
